Free roguelike sci-fi game

Strange Adventures in Infinite Space is an indie role-playing game developed by Digital Eel. The game stands out from other space adventure games, as it follows roguelike gameplay mechanics. This means the outcome of the game will be different each time it's played. While it is a short game, its replayability is infinite. Go on a solo tour of outer space in this unique imagination of the distant future.

How to play Strange Adventures in Infinite Space?

Your mission is to go on a decade-long exploration of star systems. Within this period of time, you should be able to bring your ship back to your home, the Glory star system. You will discover new planets and collect various items, creatures, allies, and special artifacts over the years. At the same time, you will need to defend yourself from enemy aliens and space patrols.

The game can be completed within 5 to 20 minutes. As a beginner, use the default settings for an average difficulty setup. You can adjust the settings to make it easier or harder. The game starts with you seeing your ship rotating in orbit in your home system. You must then move your ship from star to star. To do this, choose a destination star system then click Engage. It will refer to this as star lane travel

You will often encounter obstacles in your exploration, like the pinkish-purple Nebula and the Purple Void. It’s important to avoid Nebulae as it will slow your ship down. While 10 years is a long time in space, the game only allows you to play for less than 30 minutes. Another major obstacle is the black holes. Just like real black holes, it will suck you and your ship into oblivion and abruptly end your mission.

Superb and short rogue-lite game

Strange, but loads of fun!. I just recently found this game, it's reminescent of Ur-Quan Masters only much, much shorter. If this SAIS gang got together with the folks who re-made StarCon 2 into Ur-Quan Masters who knows what wonder project could be developed? All in all, this is a great game! Good job people! Pros: I love the weapon and ship upgrade system. Also having allies in a fight is great! The battle system is MUCH better IMHO than the one they use in Ur-Quan Masters. Folding space was a nice touch. The black holes were a pain, you should be able to use a slingshot effect to go around them. Cons: What can I say? The game was too short! I wanted more adventure time. I wanted more interaction with my 'boss' who sent me out into the unknown! I wanted to actually land on some planets to get my 'rewards'.
